Accounting Reflective Journal

Fresh mart project really taught me a lot and gave me the opportunity to experience the real life business and how to run and conduct a business. Besides the communicating skills being applied during the trading of goods, fresh mart project also help me in the understanding of the application of the accounting rules and theories. It is very important in pricing and recording all the transaction accurately throughout the process of trading goods. It is the only records to help us complete the income statement and balance sheet by the end of the day and the only way to let us know whether we are in profit or loss. In conclusion, this project taught me a lot of extra knowledge that cannot be found in the text book. This project would not be successful if there are no teamwork between us and the leadership of leader to make us work as a whole. I am really grateful of being assign this kind of project and I am looking forward for the similar one in the coming future. 

Business Communication Reflective Journal

During our first business communication tutorial class, we have been told that we have to conduct an interview to a company to analyze its communication method, marketing strategies and the problems faced. This is quite an interesting experience for all of us as we never interview a company before. We send our interview request to three companies and they reject our interview due to company’s privacy policy. Finally, we decided to interview CitiChair SdnBhd after some discussion with group members and this the only big company who willing to conduct an interview with us. CitiChair SdnBhd is a company that manufactures office furniture and at the same time sells it nationwide and worldwide. We choose this big company instead of others company because only big company can provide us further understand of how they run their business and operate in the market and also fulfill our desire of learning.

On the 16^th October 2013, we went to the company and conduct the interview with Mr. Lew, the founder and the CEO of the company. The whole process of interview run smoothly as Mr. Lew is such a friendly person. He gave full cooperation to us by answering our entire question in detail. He provide us all kind of information that we need to know and this helps us a lot when we gather up all the information and put it in words and finally hand up our assignment. He even shares the history and the background of company with us. Mr. Lew taught us that only determination and hard work will lead us to success. This is a great experience for all of us as we have learnt that it is not easy to start up and run a business.  Before the interview ends, Mr. Lew brought us to have a look in the factory as we request to take some pictures for our assignment.

However, there is an issue faced by us and matters us a lot in the process of getting this assignment done. We don’t have much time for group discussion as we have lots of classes held every day and everyone is rushing to leave campus to avoid heavy traffic jam. But we still manage to arrange our time and run through three discussions throughout this assignment. Group members are also very active and provide lots of ideas and suggestions during discussion. I have learnt that time management is very important to get a work done efficiently.

In conclusion, this interview gave us a great opportunity to learn outside from books. I am looking forward for the similar type of assignment in the coming future.
